Village Adoption

With a view to enriching the lives of villagers in at least one village in Maharashtra, SIESCOMS adopted a village called Khairpada, located in Shahpur Taluka in Thane District. The objective was to provide better education, infrastructure and employment opportunities.

Challenges in Khairpada in 2014

One Aanganwadi school in dilapidated condition having around 30 children and a school from class I to IV having around 25 students.
One bore well not deep enough for water to be available in the summer months.
No skills and no source of employment.
No supply of electricity as there are no electric poles.

Situation In 2017

Renovation of the school including creation of new class room and new library & computer center is over.
Construction of fencing around the school
Digging of bore well along with fixation of water filter (through help from Rotary Club)
Electrification of the village surrounding and road
Last leg of the project in terms of capacity building through certain skill development programs should be over by end of 2017.
